Arbee Stidham was born in Arkansas on 9th February 1917 and died in 1988.  He was an R&B singer and most successful in the late 40's to early 50's.  As a child he learned to play the clarinet, saxaphone and harmonica.  He took up the guitar in the 1950's after a car accident stopped him playing the saxaphone.

Hi biggest hit was "My Heart Belongs to You" which topped the R&B charts in 1948.  He recorded for various labels after this as a jazz/blues vocalist, but never managed to emulate his first success.  He continuned to record into the 70's and then took his hand at acting with his roll in the film 'The Bluesman' in 1973.
